Default Re: Which is easiest, Axle and engine pan, or rear body?

bump! how much longer do they need to be!?! I was looking at my BU catalog while I was in the library this afternoon. A stock replacement for a cc says it will fit both gas and electric. so what is the differance in them? I only have a gas cart too look at but somebody out there has got to know.....

Sorry Aaron...

At LEAST and 1 1/2" longer then stock... no more then 4"
(cable & sleeve)

the last time I looked at BU's catalog was about two years ago...
and at that time they only had an "extension cable kit" for electrics with lifts only!
My CC dealer has something similar to BU's... a bracket that mounts the sleeves farther back,
then little aluminum extensions on the end of the cables.

The difference between gas and electrics are the cable equalizer...
and where, and how the sleeves mount to the frame...

O.K... O.K... I'll go and look...

according to "them"... (on the site)
2000.5 and up stock lengths are 36 1/2" for the housing (sleeve)
and 41 1/2" for the cable

the only things I could find (with lengths) were the 81 to 99 were:
33" housing and, 42" for the cable...
those won't work!

then of coarse... there was the electric brake cable extension brackets...

what were you looking at?

ok if you look at this http://www.buggiesunlimited.com/prod...u=CBL CC2 4298 it says for Fits 2000.5 & Up Club Car DS Models it does not say gas or electric. this one http://www.buggiesunlimited.com/prod...u=CBL CC1 4216says Fits 1981-1999 Club Car gas and electric models. so i don't see why the ones i linked to would not work on a gas model? maybe you could e mail someone who sells them and try to get a length from them?

The first link is the stock replacement for the one I have now...
On the second link, the cable is 1/2" longer, but the housing is 2 1/2" shorter...

What I'm doing now is, getting my CC dealer to investigate this...
basically, he's going through the different cables for the different models,
(DS, XRT, Carryalls...etc) to see the differences in the lengths of the cables and housings,
as compared to my stock ones first.

He's also thinking of making up a bracket/cable kit (similar to the electric extension kit... but for gassers)
because, I couldn't be the only one with this problem...

I have a couple of Zip Ties holding my cable away from the drive clutch about a 1/2"...
It will be fine for now, unless I go off roading, hit a few bumps, and break the ties... and that WILL happen!
Since it's winter, I have a month or so to correct it!

I even thought about swapping my brake backing plates from drivers side to the passenger side and vice-versa,
But it looks like a PIA, and and I'm not completely sure it would work!
