Default Lighting wiring diagram. Help Please!

I have been looking through the wiring diagrams posted on the site and can't find one that addresses lighting. I bought a 1986 Gas Club Car that has some wires cut and I want to reconnect the lighting. Is there anyone that has a wiring diagram for lighting for this cart? Thanks!

Was this OEM lighting or after market? Didn`t think they came from factory with lights in 1986. May not be any diagrams. Where were the wires cut? Were they just cut in two or cut and removed?

lol looks like Paul is using my account? HE bought it, and I have it in my garage to tool around with haha

There are two switches on the brake pedal, one behind and one under the frame. Both switches' wire have been cut and removed.
  • Head lights work. not original (they're just 55wbulbs), apparently it had come with low/high beam lights, switch is original.
  • Running lights work.
  • Brake wires, as said, have been completely removed.

Why are there two switches on the brake pedal. The only one I see that's not pointless is the one under the frame. Can we directly wire it to the brake lights?

Should we use a relay or is the load too small to worry about?

Thanks,

Neal

The switch on the back of the pedal is to turn off the brake lights
when the Hill brake (parking brake) is set!

I have the full installation instructions for that setup, but it shows nothing on the wiring!
(only a wire loom that's supposed to come with the kit)

I didn't use the hill brake switch, I wired my + side to the ignition switch,
so, every time I turn off the key, the brake lights turn off! (when I have the hill brake set)

Hot (+) line starts at the ignition, (post #1 I believe... Yellow and blue wires)
down to the switch below the floor,
from the other post on your switch... to the + side of your brake lights
and then... the - side of your lights, to the ground on your battery.

hope this helps!

Note: it's not the same wiring if you have turn signals!
and your 86 may have a different ignition switch layout
