Reducer blew up!
Hello cart people. Today I was installing a voltage reducer on a 2000 48 volt club car and when i touched the positive input wire to the battery the thing blew up. I mean BOOOM! Smoke everywhere. It took about 1.5 seconds to blow up after i touched it to the battery. And yes I did not have a fuse installed. I know I had it hooked up correctly, easy enough red and black and red wire in with 48volts with 12 volts coming out the other two. Anyone know why?

Re: Reducer blew up!
And the positive from the no.1 battery goes to the controller and the negative no.6 battery goes to the controller , or solenoid whatever

Re: Reducer blew up!
I am concerned about your situation as I am expecting delivery of a similar voltage reducer.
I ordered the 10 amp model instead of the 20 amp as my load will only consist of running lights. I will let you know the outcome when it arrives. I assume from your post that I should stand well clear as I power it up! |
