The XCT uses the speed sensor and it has a much more intelligent Turbo function that works both to generate more torque at low rpm and greater speed as long as the motor is responding with the correct feedback.

I would enable the "Turbo" function and use that new "Uni-map1" motor map Scottyb talked about in an earlier post.
