Default rxv will not move

Hey guys, this is my first post. I'm helping my father in-law work on his 2010 Ez-Go RXV. The cart will not go. When you turn the key it acts like its trying to go through the start up checks but then gets hung up. It clicks one time then the back up buzzer sounds and doesn't stop no matter what position they key is in. The buzzer sounds low and muffled not normal. When you change to tow mode the car will roll and the back up buzzer acts normal as in it only sounds in reverse mode. Any thoughts of common things to check?

Reach down and pull accelerator pedal up, make sure its all the way into the off position, then try turning the key on again. Sometimes that return spring gets weak.

I played around with the pedal in different positions. Tried pulling it all the way up then tuning the key on. Still the same no go. Thanks for the quick response.

Always make sure the battery connections are clean and tight. Those carts are very sensitive to voltage drops. What is the voltage of the battery pack?

Total pack voltage of 50.9 volts. I'll clean all the connections and try that.

All battery connections clean and tightened. Still no go and making odd buzzing noise from the reverse buzzer.

How did you know the switch was bad? Is there a way to test the switch?

More than likely, the Motor (parking) Brake is bad, It's mounted to the end of the motor farthest from the rear differential. If it fails to pass the powerup tests, it sounds the reverse beeper. Be sure to replace it with an OEM one, not a HD (Heavy Duty) one, as that will damage the controller.

Thanks for the response. So even though the brake will disengage in tow mode it could still be faulty?
