Default What can I put on my shaft?

Ok, now that I got you attention!......

Before I put my clutches back on the tranny and engine I'd like to do something to them to keep them fron rusting/corroding. I know I need to shine up the transmission shaft (maybe some fine sandpaper or steel wool).

I was thinking of putting some WD40 or CLP but someone told me not to use any type of penetrating lubricant.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Excellent! I'll pick some up this evening. I'm guessing they sell it at Lowes or AutoZone.
