Default 89 club car motor

I have a chance to buy 89 cc cartwith new paint,brush guard,hub caps,split windsheild,lights. My question is the flat head motor a good one? The owner says it run good but is really cold natured. He is asking $800,what do you guys think ? I plan to check compression /carb. for wear,any advise would be great,thanks Jackie

Best 8.5 hp golf cart engine made.... Alittle loud but they get the job done. You can do some stuff to them to improve compression if you are gonna re-ring or such. Definitely a reliable small engine

Cold natured usually means the choke assy is not sealing properly which could mean any part of the air filter assy since the actual choke is at the end of it all under your left leg, double check it all.
If that is Ok I would lean toward the carb needing a good soaking/cleaning which is no biggie either.

Once you get it you should go ahead and do a full maintenance tune up on it to give you a starting base line.
Compression test, adjust valves, filters, oil change,plug, blow out cylinder cooling fins, etc.....
