Question about oil light on 99 Club Car
Hi, I just got a 99 Club Car CarryAll 1 with the Kawasaki motor. The oil light never comes on, does it just come on if level is low? Or is it pressure activated like most things? It runs fine and is dead stock and governed, the only weird thing is the oil light. I've read all I could find here about the sensor going bad, etc., but not sure how it is supposed to work. Thanks for info, Woody

Re: Question about oil light on 99 Club Car
next time that you change the oil, leave the key on and c if it comes on when you drain all of the oil out.iti is a level thing, not pressure

Re: Question about oil light on 99 Club Car
Thanks, that makes me feel better. I'm changing the oil today as soon as I find a filter for it, hoping NAPA or some auto parts will have it.
I have also noticed the fuel gauge shows 1/2 tank but it's obvious that it only has maybe 1/4 tank, is this adjustable? And,,,,, the hour meter is showing 3.6 hours, so I'm thinking it must go to 0 if the battery is disconnected or something? I've never seen an hourmeter do that. This is the little round digital gauge. Do they have a bad reputation? Should I clean my level indication pickup in the tank? This cart is cherry, no kids have beat it, and will be sweet when I figure out the little bugs! Thanks very much for your time and help, greatly appreciated. Woody |

Re: Question about oil light on 99 Club Car
Your gauge may have been replaced to keep from showing it's REAL running hours!
(kind of like turning back your odometer) But, not to worry... Club Cars have a pretty long lilfetime! leave the key on for 15 minutes, and see if it changes to 3.7... if it does, you should be fine! (it does NOT have to be running) AND... it should NOT turn back to 0 when disconecting the battery! as for your fuel gauge... with my 07 Lynx... The fuel pick up/feed line tends to get in the way of the float inside the tank, it'll either hold it down, or hold it up, I just take a long (clean) screwdriver to move the line out of the way of the float! (it only happens, when I let the fuel run low) just a couple of things to check, before replacing stuff! Oh... and Welcome to BGW! |
