48v or Raptor Motor?
Should I upgrade to 48v or upgrade to the raptor motor? I have 2g wires, 500 amp controller, HD fnr switch.
Motor is the cheaper option. |

Re: 48v or Raptor Motor?
I would think max range is your goal go 48 volt with a large goof amp / hr ratings batt. Pack , you will not regret it
Good luck Cheers ! |

Re: 48v or Raptor Motor?
what would my range be with 36V? I also have a polaris ranger for long runs. Really only want the cart for quiet trips. I could eventually upgrade to 48 v.

Re: 48v or Raptor Motor?
since this is for a hunting cart......I would go with 48V. The fact that you will get a speed and torque boost of about 30% going from 36v to 48v.

Re: 48v or Raptor Motor?
Range / run time is based on how many KWH (kilo-watt hrs ) are stored in your battery pack , example at standard set of T105 Trojans (36volt ) have approx 9 KWH whereas a 48 volt pack ( using 8 -six volt batts.-same amp/ hr rating ) would have approx. 12 KWH a33.3% increase in run time , just by going to 48 volt. However you have to upgrade the drive system which means a 400 or 500 amp Alltrax controller with 48 volt Solenoid up grade battery cables to 4guage or 2 guage , I'm running 260 amp/ hr Crowns the stanard Trojan is 225 Amp/ hr
With 48 volt , 400amp controller , solenoid etc either way get out the wallet Cheers |

Re: 48v or Raptor Motor?
We first need to know what drive type you have, series or Sepex.
Were it mine, I would NOT go with a Raptor. This is a high RPM motor. For hunting, I'd think you'd want a lower RPM, higher torque motor. Mine's used off-road around 10%, and does pretty good on some fairly steep hills. I'm sure folks with hunting buggies will be along to comment. |

Yurtle, from one of his other threads....seeing as how he has a HD F/R switch, he has a series cart. (TXT)
