Default Lestronic II 36v charger, not charging.

My Lestronic II 36v charger for my club car is not working. The batteries are all charged enough to be recognised and it does "hum" loudly when plugged in, but the amp meter does not indicate charge and there is no output. I have it apart, and while I have never seen inside one before, nothing jumps out as being an obvious issue. Is there a component that likely went bad? Thanks!

I just fixed one of these. The fact that it is humming is probably a good sign that the transformer is working. I watched a good video on you tube about testing a power wise charger and the lestronic I had was similar.

I found a troubleshooting guide online, but it wasn't much of a help.

Check out this video. I know it's not the lester but the components in mine were similar. It's not discussing your specific situation either, but it might help.

Sounds like it may be a bad diode but I am not totally sure where the diodes are or how to test for continuity on the Lestronic. Does anyone know?

Battery Voltage is at 37.2 so that shouldn't play any type of issue being too low. Also to clarify my situation further, I just traded for this cart and charger and while I was TOLD that the charger worded without a problem, I have never seen it work. And the guy didn't seem too mechanically inclined. I got it for next to nothing b/c he had left it out all winter uncharged and it woudn't take a charge now (obviously). Once I filled, desulphated and charged the batteries they all test pretty good and now the charger kicks on and hums, where it wouldn't at all before. Also the fuse is good in it. I really appreciate any help. thanks!

I remember when I had an issue with my Lestronic II I called the technical support staff at Lester. Call and ask for George. He is very knowledgeable and will definitely help solve your problem. Number can be found under Service/Support tab of Lester's website

Thanks, I am waiting to hear back from them.

I believe the I got everything tested but the transformer correctly and it all checked out ok via the multimeter. I am wondering what the ods are that the amp guage on the charger is faulty. Is there any way to test if any voltage is actually coming out of the charger?

Sure is. Take a voltage sample of the pack before you plug the charger in. Then plug it in and take another voltage sample of the pack. It should be higher with the charger running
