I can't argue the fact that it was not the most helpful response one could have written, but it's done.
Forums are the best and worst of the internet, let's keep this the best.
I'm a member of many forums and this forum is one of the most friendly and helpful forums I'm on. I could ask the most basic question here, like which pedal do you press to make a cart go and someone with the patience and knowledge would answer, the one on the right. One of the forums I'm on, if it is obvious you've not done at least 3 1/2 days of search for your answer you'll get kinda the same response the OP got and don't even ask a newbie question, that can get nasty.
Let's keep this forum for everybody, the newbies, the boys driving 100 MPH carts, the seasoned cart techs and everybody in between.
Let's not discourage anybody from asking anything. That's how you learn.
If you think somebody asks a stupid question, don't worry about it and move on. If you believe someone makes a less than appropriate response let's handle it in different way. Negative posts are not helpful.
We went thru Hurricane Matthew and I gained a whole new outlook on helping people and being helped and realized the impact it can have on your life and the life of others. I had people I didn't know help me ,as well as doing the same for others, we came together and did what we could do for each other. That's what this forum has been to me,so far, people helping each other. I'd like to see it stay that way.
Let's remember what this forum is all about.
Hopefully everybody will learn from this.

Question. Was that one of the food fights I was warned about in the introductions? Now I'll just wait for the "toga party".

No this was one of the episodes when somebody stepped in dog poo and tracked it in the house and then it turned into a pissing contest while trying to clean it up....

Good for you Goose! Welcome here. Sorry your first experience was so messy. Not like that all the time.
