Default 2013 RXV No Go

Well, I think my wife killed the cart.. the daughter had it out and ran batteries low.. wife went and towed her back, flipped switch under seat but did NOT place key in N .... so when she got home there was a strong odor, I was not there so I don't know the smell I assume brake..

Anyway, she charged it and the care will only click into F or R with the key and has no response with pedal..

I will be home in a few days... where should I start looking or replacing ?

The motor brake would have been fried by not following the proper tow procedure to release it prior to towing. When fried it smells like a burned clutch.

Its a perishable maintenance item and they are easily replaced. Plenty of how to videos on YouTube

I found one and the video. Simple..
However, would this keep the cart from moving?
I am sure I need one, just not sure it's her only issue.

Will replace next week when I am home and the brake arrives

Its very likely. The RXV steps through a multi step routine once you turn the key on, and if any steps fail, it wont allow you to drive the cart. One of those steps is to check the motor brake, so...
There are those that know a lot more about the RXV that can correct or confirm what I'm saying, but I believe it to be true.

You are 100% correct, it is a safety issue as the RXV has no mechanical brakes on the wheels, only regen and the motor brake so it is designed NOT to run if brake test fails.
