Re: Medalist just stopped working...
A few questions.
These controllers look to be a lot bigger than the stock. What’s the recommended solution for covering it as I understand the stock cover will not work? I use my cart mainly in my neighborhood on streets, a few weeks in a beach town with minor driving down the shoreline then a few times a year at my ranch which has some hills. I have a lift, larger tires, and a rear seat so many times I have full load of 4 people. I’d also like to get a front cargo rack so there is some more weight. I’d like great speed and pulling/carrying capability. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Medalist just stopped working...
You don't need to cover the Alltrax, just mount it to the original heatsink. Since your cart is already lifted with big tires and back seat I would go with the SR48500 controller, MZJ400A solenoid, H/D F/R switch or reversing contactor and 2ga cable set. This will give you everything you need for now and for future upgrades such as 48v and a different motor. I don't know what you define as decent speed but series carts need more voltage and/or an upgraded motor to gain much speed. The Medalist in my signature tops out at 17mph with the stock 36v motor but it has a lot of torque.

Re: Medalist just stopped working...
I'm on cartsunlimited, looking at the package deals.
A few other questions... I'm looking at "Items #4" for my 95' 36v Medalist, but want to make sure this is all going to be compatible. I see in the options dropdown, there is a SR48500/400sol/SW202/2g cables option. I understand the 202 switch requires 3/8 lugs. Are these automatically included and installed on the supplied cables? In the throttle info dropdown, I selected 'Ezgo Medalist and TXT 36v'. What exactly am I supplying this for? In the battery info dropdown, I selected 'Siz 6v batteries 36v'. This is correct, but what if out of the blue one day I want to add a 7th battery? Is this whole package deal sufficient? With this package, is this absolutely everything I need for the conversion/install? Whats shipping time look like? Thanks for all your help so far! |

Re: Medalist just stopped working...
Hopefully Scotty will see this and answer but you can email him for a faster response. I would say if you order everything at once the cables will come with the proper terminals. The throttle type question is so the controller can be programmed correctly and his shipping is usually 2-3 days in my experience. If I could make a suggestion, order the cables for 6-8v batteries now so when you decide to up the voltage to 48 they will still work, they are a bit longer but will still work with 6-6v. The only other thing you would need to up the voltage would be a different resistor, batteries and a charger.
