More information please. Series, Pds, 36 or 48 volts?

Even though it is clicking, Solenoid could have failed internally and still be bad. Make sure you have pack voltage on both sides of Solenoid when it is engaged (clicks).

Beyond that we likely will need more info as KGSC said.

I tested pack voltage from the batteries

You’re staying test voltage straight from the solenoid?

2 new batteries does not help , they are now just as old as the 2017 ones. when the charging process happens the 2 new ones finish before the older 4 . as they wait for the other to catch up the new sit and boil away.

Well I replaced one because the voltage was low, the other was replaced because one of the terminals ripped off- so it needed to happen and I didn’t want to do all 6

Voltage on solenoid is nowhere near 36v

Sounds like that could be it?

So, on one of the large terminals on the Solenoid you have voltage same as your battery pack? And, on the other large terminal on the Solenoid you have much less than Battery pack voltage when the Solenoid engages (clicks)?

If yes to both, your Solenoid has failed internally.
