Default Roast ME!!! RXV controller Toast?!

Picked up an RXV as part of a trade for a Benz that I had for sale. Me, Being the husband and father that I am couldn't let my wife and kids ride the neighborhood without a proper radio. Picked up a 3"gauge pod marine radio from crutchfield and went after it.

Some of you know where this is going.

I have no context AT THIS POINT about the way this SOC meter works on these carts. Frankly never had a reason to question anything, but apparently there is a right and a wrong way to wire these things if you have a budget.

radio was installed on its own dedicated power and ground wire but the gauge spade terminals had to be unplugged to access the panel for install. Only thing i can figure is that at some point they shorted, and now my controller and/or harness/ rotary sensors/ etc. are damaged.

I am now experiencing drive failure symptoms that are as follows.
Key switch seems operational. buzzer and solenoid both operate audibly.
solenoid transfers power with less than 0.2volt loss.
pack is reading 51 volts
charger operates and batteries respond to charging.
however. the brake does not disengage under normal operation mode.
tow switch does disengage brake when

Either way, I am going to be sinking some money into this pile soon and just trying to add up just how much.

Anyone Local To Columbia South Carolina with a Scanner?

First, undo all the mods you did. (Likely too late, but try anyway). Where did you hook the wires? (Tell the truth of all of them). Pics, or drawn diagram...

Spade terminals were installed on the back of a 4 pin SOC meter.
The additional Wiring was added and run to the existing battery location tap for 12 volts.

Forgot to add that the SOC meter now blinks when connected and key switched on. Also the meter drops battery voltage very quickly, even though pack isnt being discharged.

Those spade terminals black to red is where I think shorted

The SOC meter doesn't get it's reading from the batteries. The controller tells it what to read out. At the SOC plug there is a Red 48v, Gray 5v, Black ground.

The forum won't let me upload at the moment. Try looking for the Curtis RXV Troubleshooting guide in a thread. That is what your going to need to help find your problems.

I am working with a Danaher here. I do have the troubleshooting manual and am currently working through it.o

Here's the latest.
all 5v sensor wires show 5v when tested to B- post.
when the sensor is tested across the ground present at the sensor i get .75 volts.
voltage is being back-fed into the sensor ground circuit from somewhere.
after removing all sensors from circuit I found the motor sensor feeds 5v into the ground circuit for the 5v sensors.

This is in-fact abnormal correct?
