Default Controller and solenoid question

I have a 2005 EZgo PDS with a 4in lift, 4 gauge wires, 22in tires, a back seat, and a small trailor i sometimes tow. I am looking at the alltrax DCX500PDS controller as an upgrade. Not sure what the best option for a solenoid would be. I want as much torque as possible and also a lot of speed. Currently still running stock motor. And advice?

Im kind of in the same boat, although I'm looking at a DCX400 for my cart(also '05 EZGO TXT PDS). Not sure if I need a resistor and diode, along with the solenoid too???

Generally 400 amps is the max recommended for the stock motor. Allowing the motor to draw more amperage will potentially allow it to produce more heat. Heat is the downfall of these Sepex motors. They are made for running down the course not creeping along with a trailer in tow. That sort of work is better suited to a series motor.
