Exclamation What is the longest distance non-stop?

Hi,

I just want to check with you guys, what is the longest distance that an Electric 48v Car should be runned without stop, with full charge. In terms of miles, open throttle...

Obviously without causing any damage to any part/component.

Thanks in advanced!

Too many variables to make a blanket statement about distance... much like how far can you go on a tank of gas?

Yes, lets say, flat road, 90 degrees of temp, new set of batteries, full charged.

All I want to know, how far I can drive the car, non-stop without abusing or damaging any component.

The motor (if stock) shouldn't care, the controller and solenoid should be fine (on flat terrain), and the cables and f/r whould be ok too. The pack voltage SHOULD be the limiting factor, if all other components are nominal. Last fall I drove mine thirteen miles on soft gravel before the pack started to drop out.

Distance on level ground is going to be limited by the battery capacity. Going up hills is another issue. The motor will get hot when you are pushing it up hills but not so much on level ground.

Very generally speaking a healthy pack should load test for 90-110 minutes on a draw down machine. Compute this by your cruising speed (not top speed) to get the distance you can expect to go.
