While your at it maybe you could convert to 36 volts and then you only need three bats and could save even more. And that would give extra room in the bat compartment to store stuff.

I was hoping for a cheap fix, but I kinda knew better. Thanks for the reality check. Time to bite the bullet on some real batteries.

Good choice, as I think you would be throwing your money away by buying car batteries, it sucks but your definitely making the right decision to buy deep cycle batteries instead of the cranking batteries.

OP, I think Interstate makes cart batteries. Any chance he could order you some and still get a discount?

Good idea. I'll ask him. I did find T-875's for $125. If my son can't get a better deal I'll just stick with 8v. Thanks.
