crazy steering
1999-2000 Ez-Go Elecrtric, 6-inch lift kit, knobby tires. Real crazy steering problem. When backing both front wheels has severe Toe-In. To the point the cart is difficult to back-up. After put in forward left wheel straightens but right wheel remains with awkward toe-in. Any suggestions on a fix. Thanks Somedays I get Brainstorms and somedays I just get Rain

Re: crazy steering
Does your lift have the risers for the tierods? They may be loose or your tierods are shot. The steering gearbox isn't loose is it? Lay under the cart while someone steers left and right lock to lock and see if you have unusual movement.

Re: crazy steering
Normally you would never see this on an Ez-Go,its' common on Yamahas'.I would make sure everything is tight,it sounds like the steering-linkage is loose or moving. The steering-arm risers are known to loosen and move around.Hope this helps.

Re: crazy steering
Don't know a lot about carts but it sounds like the tie rod is not fully linking the two wheels and possibly the steering box has come free from the frame. Like stated before, have someone turn the steering wheel lock to lock while you look under the cart to watch the front end.

Re: crazy steering
First, thanks for the replies and advice. Put my wife behind the steering wheel. You guys, are right. Tie rods shot and the bolts going to the spindle are too small diameter. Thanks, again!
