Default Switched 12v for radio

I'm a newb w carts, I just got an 03 ezgo and lifted, added wheels and tires and made kick panels for some 5 1/4 components. I am putting a radio in for the first time, what do you guys use for switched 12v?
I know that's a basic question, but want to do things right the first time.
Pics coming soon

I have a standalone 12v battery. As far as I am concerned, it is the only way to fly.

Do you use the cart ignition to switch on and off the radio or is it hot wired w all your accessories to the other battery? I really want it keyed so my kids can't leave the radio on.

Greg, a lot of us have a DC/DC converter that converts your pack voltage to 12v to run all of the accessories.....radio, lights, horn, etc...

First off the madness that is BGW, these guys and gals here can answer just about any question you got. So with that being said, I installed a separate battery for the radio and accessories. Alot of the guys on here have a reducer like Nuke said. But for your info, I also have a switch that I ran for the red wire of the radio. I have to hit the switch to turn on the radio and its bright enough in the day light you cant forget to turn the radio off even if the volumes all the way down. Its the beacon for a ship..
