The solenoid clicks, so there is a problem in the high current loop.

The high current loop consists of 13 cables, 26 bolt-on connections, the solenoid contacts, the F/R switch contacts, the motor and the controller. All connected in series.

Connect your DVM's negative test lead to the main negative terminal on the battery pack and after the solenoid clicks closed, measure the voltage at the four cable connections on the F/R switch.

For clarity in communications, please use the F/R switch letter designations on this schematic with the high current circuit highlighted. (A at 6 o'clock low and going clockwise.)

Note: If "A" has voltage, the other three should also have voltage or the F/R switch is bad.

Having quickly read this, I'm leaning toward a bad F&R contact.

JohnnieB.
I just got home from work after leaving at 3 am....and the first thing I did was check the voltage at A=36.8 volts, B=0, C=0, D=0. The F&R is the only thing I haven't replaced...so it looks like that's what is going on. Thank you so much...this thing has been one absolute nightmare....I will donate to the forum again...thanks.

why does the schematic show an A2 post when my controller does not have one?It shows large black wire going to A on F&R switch

Some models had a 4 blade controller others had a 3 blade. No worries

ok well if A2 post which I don't have says the wire from it goes to A on F&R where does A wire go if I don't have the A2 Blade?

If you dont have A2 post on the controller the 2 cables that go to A2 post simply become 1 cable which then bypasses the control. Hope this helps

Take a closer look at the schematic.
The cable from the A2 terminal on the schematic connects to "C" on the F/R switch, which has two cables connected to it. The other end on the second cable goes to the A2 terminal on the motor.

The cable on "A" connects to the B+ terminal on the controller.

What Scotty is talking about is that EZGO saved a few feet of cable by making the connection of the two cables on the A2 terminal on the controller instead of "C" on the F/R switch. Therefore, when a four terminal controller is replaced by a three terminal controller, the two short cables have to be bolted together to make one long enough to reach from motor to the F/R switch, or they have to be replaced with a longer cable.

Look at the drawing very closely....the wires (cables) you are concerned with are the RED ones, and two BLUE ones.

Look at the four posts on the F/R as JohnnieB decribed earlier.

POST A goes to the B+ terminal on the controller
POST B goes to the S1 terminal of the motor
POST C goes to the A2 terminal of the motor
POST D goes to the S2 terminal of the motor

and the A1 terminal of the motor goes to the M- of the controller
and the second cable from the B+ of the controler goes to the positive terminal of the first battery of your pack.
and the cable from the B- of the controller goes to the negative terminal of the last battery of your pack.

EDIT: CRAP....Ya beat me to it.....lol

Considering your readings posted in #13.....its time to buy a F/R switch.
