Default How I Extended Swing Arm!

I dropped and pulled back the swing arm on my G1 while installing a G2 rear end.

There are lots of ways to do it but here is how I did it. I sometimes over build things and probably did this one. But I think it turned out great.

I went down 6" and back 4". I think I slid it back just a little more than I needed too. But I'm not going to sweat it. I'll just trim the back of the wheel well a bit and install fender flares to even it out.

Here are some pictures of the way I did my project.

My cardboard template:

Material I used to cut out my pieces and the pieces after I ground them the same.

Thanks for all the pictures, I think we need to combine both threads and maybe see about a sticky, I searched for awhile on here and didn't find much.

Yep, I had to look thru a lot of threads to find what few I did find. Lots lately working on this mod, so one thread with all the info and pictures of how others did it might be a good idea.

How did this affect your brake cables? Looks good!

Slo, I haven't gotten to the brake cables yet. But I do have an extra one of the longer passenger side cables and think that with the two the cables will be fine.

The whole thing will look a lot better once I get it all cleaned up and painted. I may have to change my shock mounts too, but not sure on that part either. I'll be posting more pics when I get to finishing it.

Looks great. I also used another passenger side brake cable on the drivers side. No ill effects.
