'97 g16
I've been looking for an unlifted non-running G16 project for awhile, and found this in SC. $700. The seats are brand new. 20' paint job. It's got some not unexpected rust under the cowl, but nothing that can't be repaired. Broken/really buggered exhaust bolt, and the wrong primary. Brake problems. Compression is 145. I bolted on the muffler with 1 bolt and got it to fire on starting fluid, so I got that far.
The seats immediately went on the G22. I want to see if I can at least get this running. Then, swap my 2001 G16 engine in, and lift it using the lift and tires from the BB cart. So the BB gets a new lift and 12 wheels and tires, which will probably be first on the list. Then get rid of the black cart. This will keep me busy for awhile... |

I saw that cart for sale in Myrtle Beach and thought about buying it myself. I hope your project goes well.

That's cool Dave! Thought I saw a top for it. Not putting that on? How much are you going to ask for it, when its all done?

Yeah, it's got a top. This will be something to keep me busy-- it's the first project of this sort that I've done, so it will take awhile. Having freebie upgrades from the red cart is nice, and getting a Double A-arm lift and 23's for the red cart will be nice, too.

Re: '97 g16
I'm gonna see if I can get it to run, then I'll pull it out. It fired on starting fluid, but that's it. Need to look at the carb. That broken bolt would be hard to fix without putting the head on a drill press, and I'm not set up for that.

Re: '97 g16
Is there a machine shop local to you Dave? Shouldn't charge much to fix that.

Nice Dave. Can you tack a bolt on the broken one?

Re: '97 g16
Or, drill it out a little and use an easy out tap. They work well!

Re: '97 g16
It's been drilled and badly buggered up. Just want to see if it will run, then out it comes. Repairing that engine is far down the line. There's a lot to keep me busy. I've got to practice my welding...
