Looks like the clutch on my 1989 looks different from the one you sent pics of.... I have uploaded 2 pics of my clutch. Can you confirm that your clutch will fit my cart.... Same belts and driven clutch etc....

That's the old 1984-1987 Salsbury clutch. That clutch would not have come factory on your 1989 cart, unless it has something to do with carts produced in Canada. The American Club Cars upgraded to the newer style like the one I have, in 1987-88. Please also show a better photo of your driven clutch so I can see what you have. The drive and driven clutches were both upgraded at the same time and there is a slight belt mismatch if the two clutches don't match.

Here's a photo showing the belt mismatch I mentioned. Depending on which driven clutch is on your cart, you may run into this issue. The clutch mismatch isn't completely unworkable, I've seen more than a few carts with mismatched clutches, and they seem to run ok, but you probably won't get as much mileage out of your main drive belt I imagine.

Here's the clutches on my cart (I have an '87 but it has the 1988-1996 clutches upgraded on it). On further inspection of your photos it does appear that your driven clutch is the newer style with the radial fins on the outside of the sheaves (the old style was just flat steel). So I would say this point that the bad primary (drive) clutch that's on your cart right now is the wrong clutch for your cart, as it already has the newer (1988+) driven clutch on it, and being a 1989 model year it should have come from the factory with the newer style clutch like the one I have here in my garage.

Also be sure to have your mechanic check out this thread link below that shows what you need in order to remove that old drive clutch off your motor. You can get the parts at any hardware store or your guy may have the parts laying around his shop (basically just a bolt and a small steel rod):

I bought a motor from a 1986 cart a few years ago and had to remove that old drive clutch like the one you have.

Well, if Don doesn't respond by the end of the day Saturday, I'll sell the clutch to wtecki.
