Gear oil question for G2
In service book, it state to use 90W for gear oil.
I couldn't find any "90W" however I did find SAE 75W-90 shown in photo and it's synthetic Will this be OK to use in the G2 Gearbox? If not then what weight oil should I go with? Another question is I noticed a two drain plug underneath and I know one is for the motor oil because I changed motor oil last night and I assume the second drain plug more in the rear is the Gear housing plug then? Where do I go fill it up after draining? I am assuming vent tubing near top of the gear box pulls out and I would go top it up with gear oil? Thank you Bill |

Re: Gear oil question for G2
That will work perfect!! There is a 10mm bolt on the driver side of the tranny, kinda down low by the ring gear. Pull that bolt out and fill through the vent plug hole.. Pry out the vent plug gently with a screw driver. They break!! When oil comes out the 10mm hole, the tranny is full!!
You can see the bolt on the left side of this tranny case!! It will take roughy 80% of a quart!! |

All this info is in the G8 club or G9, all you have to do is read for a few nights and you wouldn't have to wait for your questions to be answered!! Usually in more detail!!

Man...I don't know that they'd have 3 to 4 weeks to get through G8 and G9 to answer their questions!!!! But, if they did, they'd be able to rebuild a yamaha golf cart blindfolded!!!

Yes, 75w90. They sell it at Walmart and most all parts stores.
