G2 upgrades
Have a pretty much stock g2 but want just a little more out of it. Governor removed, air box removed, comet primary clutch, with 20" tires and a econo lift

Re: G2 upgrades
I am very happy with my plowman's kit. New primary and secondary clutches, carb jets, exhaust and belt. He is redoing my rear struts now. I have a lift and 22" mud tires. It climbs some awesomely steep hills. I should take a good video and post it. Most people wouldn't believe it.

Re: G2 upgrades
Are you looking for more top speed or torque?

Re: G2 upgrades
A U-Max spring would give you some bite.

Re: G2 upgrades
i loved my umax spring / comet primary setup. but the clutch (old/used up) puked its weights. now in on a G22 style primary/ umax spring. umax spring is easily best "bang for the buck" of any lifted cart upgrade (like $12).

Re: G2 upgrades
Re-jetting your carb will only make it run richer or leaner - what ever way you go. Jetting controls running characteristics like popping through the carb - lean to fouled plug - to rich. If the plug burns properly [a caramel brownish color] you have no jetting issue. Overall speed is controlled by the governor and can be adjusted. My G2 I installed a Tiny Tach and I'm getting 21-22 mph with 20 inch tires @ 3350 rpm. I could tweak the governor a little more -- I believe the red line on a stock 285cc Yamaha engine is 4000 rpm. Make sure you use a tach when your trying to adjust close to red line rpm's.
