Default Starter generator stops working after getting hot.

I have a G9 Yamaha gas golf cart that I have got running outside of the starter generator gets hot and when activating the pedal it will not start or even roll over. When it cools down it will again work. I have replaced the brushes and voltage regulator without any luck. Any suggestions what to look for next I would appreciate.

To start with, is the armature binding when you try to spin the starter by hand, with the belt removed?

If it turns freely, go to the sticky up top, "So your yami won't turn over"!! And follow the test sequence !!

And Welcome to the site!!

It does roll over and start. After about a half hour it will not start or roll over when it gets warm.

That would be an odd failure. Ive never seen one do that. I have however seen a solenoid stop working when hot.

I would say that's when it fails, you check to see which part is not working. Should be very simple with a few bypasses to see if you can get the cart to run, when it stops.

Ok easy with some bypass tests. Any way this can be explained what to bypass and where? I do not want to short circuit anything causing larger issues.
