1994 oil leak
Just bought the cart.Probably paid to much.$1800. Around here a gas cart is hard to come by and sellers don’t budge on price. They will just call the next guy on the list. Anyway its a Yamaha GY5-117960 is the serial. It has the oil leak by the dipstick. Is that an engine out gasket replacement or can it be done with the engine on cart? The oil is kind of milky also. Whats up with that. Supports for the backrest and roof cracked. I repaired. Also installed rear seat. the cart runs good. Needs a good polish. Cleaned the clogged air passages today and all the oil off the engine so I could find the leak. Need the procedure for the gasket.A service manual would be great. Did I get ripped on this thing? Thank god I can easily do mechanic work. The cart does run good even with its problems.

Re: 1994 oil leak
the washings probably got water in the bad crankcase side cover gasket. its a fairly common problem on older carts. while its possible to do in the cart, its safer to do it out of the cart due to possible dirt contamination and possible timing mismatch if the cam or balance shaft slips out with the cover removal.
