I think you may have passed on a decent deal. If it wasn't "perfect" enough for you, save up a little more & get a newer one with the Dana axle and FI, will be better in the long run when people are saying "I haven't seen a new Team input shaft in years, you are screwed".

I bought my 2013 a couple years ago from a dealer for $3300. It still had some warranty left on it, and in pretty close to perfect shape. Bone stock fleet car. I had to go to Alabama to pick it up.
Mine has been perfect, except when I forgot I had turned the fuel off. DUH

I wasn't able to find anything near the condition and age for less than $3800 in North GA

With the torn seats, that might a little high, but it still seems to be a sellers market so deals can be very hard to find.
Seats can be replaced or fixed/ covered. I would worry more about how it runs.
Good luck in your search.

So I ended up with a 2013 Yamaha Gas for 2850+tax. Wife and I were happy with the deal. I played with the governor and went from 9 to about 15 MPH. Looking to make this a fun winter project until we hit the lake again in late spring.

The order of my mod plan right now:
Street Legal it
Back seat kit
6" lift with 22/23" tires
Front hitch receiver, cooler/fishing pole mount
New seats/re-upholstered
Replace dash with stereo/speakers locations, bazooka tube under rear seats
Black 80" roof
LED lights under roof and body
High Speed Gears

Any opinion on my plan? I have no idea what I'm doing, so I will rely heavily on this forum.

Is this street legal kit, the defacto kit to buy? Seems to meet all Ohio requirements. And Im looking to get the kit that I see on all the Yamahas at the lots, I like the look of those headlights, these seem the same.

I have that kit, I was one of the reviewers. The directions were horrible, but I have rewired entire cars/jeeps before so not awful. That actuator for the brake pedal required grinding of the pedal bracket to fit. I have seen a 2012 and it would have fit. Works well, put it on a relay off the ignition key that way nobody can leave lights on. The fit and finish of the lights and their output are very good. Most folks who pass me in neighborhood think I am a car at distance.

Mine with the governor adjustment and 22's runs about 22mph flat out. Will get the plowmans 2013 kit when I can budget for it. I'd recommend a 3 inch since your floor deck would be about 20ish with a 6. My floor is about 17 and the kids can enter and exit fine and not too top heavy at speed.

Is it a poor design or soft steel? What part of the input shaft fails and are there any warning signs of a looming failure?

Thanks

Here, as stated above, in South GA I would buy that for that price... The OP...
Our carts are used ALL year and thus there is a stronger price alll year round
