Lightbulb Here is something to try when your cart has all new parts and still wont run!

FOUND THE PROBLEM .... My cart would turn over, sputter-start for 1-2 seconds and then that was it. Months ago I posted a -->thread <-- where I mentioned that I had reviewed the forum threads and tried the most common solutions:
• drained all the old fuel from tank & lines
• cleaned the original carb & bought a new one
• cleaned and verified pump is working
• installed all new fuel and vac lines
• purged and primed the fuel lines
• installed screw-type fasteners on all lines
• installed new plug and coil/wire, verified spark
• installed new battery, verified volts
• Compression is 116 PSI
• No oil leaks

THE SOLUTION was finally found once I hired a reputable mechanic. He jiggled the coil wire and found the unit had poor connections. A new connector on the positve end, and a complete new ground wire made this puppy fire up and run smooth.

A good mechanic was worth his weight in gold...and thanks to the forum, I was able to shave a few hours off his time to troubleshoot potential problems

Glad you got it figured out. Never would have suspected an electrical issue by the symptoms you were having. I guess carts as old as ours need to have the connections and insulation checked periodically since the wires are going on 30+ years old now. I'll be sure to refer to this post if I ever have the same problem.

Sometimes it cheaper to take it to the mechanic in the beginning instead of pricey trial and error parts. But anywho you learned a lot and now can tackle any issue down the road. Happy trails
