Also a equalization charge is only suppose to be done every month or so. Here are my Trojan charging recommendations fot T-875

I don't stand around watching my charger but I wonder how high the DPI Accusense goes up to?

In the last 15 minutes of charge I believe I've seen the voltage go as high as 60v. The last 15 minutes of charge is when the charged light comes on but the current is very low like 2 or 3 amps. I also measured it with the dash meter so it might be off a few tenths.

I'm sure that I've glanced at the charger 1000's of times as I move around in the garage and like you I've seen 60 at one point or another... Only thing that sticks in my head is the float at 53 volts...

I'm dang pleased with my DPI & Crown battery combo, 2 plus years old and finally had to add some water to them....

The charger is waiting for the pack to reach X volts before cutting off. The new batteries which are taking a charge faster than the old batteries go up higher in voltage than the old batteries.
I would be curious to know what the individual battery voltages read 1-6 when the charge is nearing the end of the cycle.
Batteries on charger and still charging. Pack voltage is 63.2

1) 10.54 2016 battery. Installed yesterday and been through 2 charge cycles.

2) 10.84 2014 battery

3) 10.04 2011 battery. Came with cart.

4) 10.9 2011 battery. Came with cart.

5) 10.97 2016 battery. 6 months old approx.

6) 9.8 2011 battery. Came with cart.

I was not sure which battery was called number 1 but my #1 was the battery that the positive lead goes to the motor and my #6 is the negative that goes to ground if that matters.

That's more than likely because the DPI doesn't run the charge voltage up to the 63-65 volts range,so there is a lot less gassing. What mode does the Crown batteries use?

Mode 3 according to DPI

I used mode 2 as delivered for some time and only recently switched when I finally decided to ask...

In case you didn't know here are the voltages for the DPI.

The mode settings are mathematical algorithms that generate a charge curve based on the construction of the battery taking into account materials used, plate thicknesses, and capacities.
I can give you the peak calibration voltages but I don’t think they will tell you much.

Mode 1 61.6 Vdc
Mode 2 57.2 Vdc
Mode 3 57.6 Vdc
Mode 4 58.4 Vdc

As you can see they are lower than Trojan recommends. But with temp comp during the hot summer months 57.2 is alright. I will probably switch to Mode 4 for the winter.
PS this was an email from DPI.
