Default Battery cable getting hot

I have a 48v (4x12v batteries). I had a positive terminal that was getting hit and burned the cable end. I thought that it was the battery being bad. Not a good time for me to buy a new battery, so I moved the battery and the same thing happened in the new location. Figured that the battery was too far gone. I bought a new battery and it is doing the same thing. Just the positive terminal on that one battery. Could it be that this is/was the only good battery and it's pulling a heavier load? Thanks!

It's the cable end connection to the terminal not being clean and tight.

Thanks for the reply. Why would it move with the battery. Same terminal got hot in a different location with different cables that didn't heat up before. I move the battery keep the cables in the same place and that battery's positive terminal keeps getting hot. I can try changing the cables and connectors but it had me stumped why I could move the battery and it keep getting hot, new and old.

Only thing that makes that connection get hot is a bad connection at that terminal. It could be a problem with the battery or the cable but I = E/R all the time.

If it were the "ONLY" good battery you would know it due to bucking or hesitation and BOTH ends of the battery & cables would be getting hot...

Chances are great that when you moved the batteries around that you moved the bad connection with and now you more than like have both bad connections on the cable end and on the batteries from playing hop scotch with them...
