Default XRT 1550 not charging

Club Car XRT1550 Petrol not charging
Two yellow wires go to the voltage regulator and give 21 ac volts with engine running Have 12 volts dc to red wire on voltage reg. from 25 amp fuse in fuse box. Can only test with wires disconnected as fuse blows.
Both yellow wires are earthed with engine off ( tested with wires disconnected from volt reg )The red wire connects to the same terminal on the voltage regular as one of the yellow wires Therefore the fuse blows and no charging. Guessing the stater type alternator is faulty . I would like to confirm this with a wiring diagram and decide if I wish to replace the alternator myself depending on work evolved to replace

A Club Car "Illustrated Parts List" has wiring diagrams and exploded views of your XRT 1550!

Go here... >>> http://www.gcartparts.com/category-s/798.htm <<<

Find the year and type (gas/petrol or diesel) of your 1550, and download it!
The wiring diagram is in the Electrical System section!

To be honest? I've never worked on one, and personally have only seen 2 of them...

This one at my old campground...

Misc. 097 (2).jpg

and this one at my Club Car dealer...

Trac Cart 002.jpg

So... I don't know!

Done some research on you tube, motor cycle staters and how to test
The stater wires should not be grounded to earth

Will have to remove stater to check wiring and most likely replace the stater
