2012 Club Car-Gas; Won't turnover
I've had this cart since new. Since new, on occasion and no matter if forward or reverse, you turn on the key, step on the gas pedal and all you hear is the dreaded solenoid click. Pump it a few times and she lights up and takes off. Then it gets worse, needs more pumps before she goes until one day just the clicks. I have changed the solenoid many times and it usually fixes it for a while but why is this happening? I was told that the cart is not grounded correctly. Ok, everything is tight, no broken wires or fuses. If I run a wire from the negative side of the battery, where can I ground it? If it's not plastic it's aluminum.
Battery showing 13.5v. I have checked the solenoid small post, good. Large post, good. Small post show no energy until I press the gas pedal then I see voltage. Large post have power all the time. I have replaced the voltage regulator, starter/alternator, micro-switches, etc and as I said, the solenoid many times. Can someone here help me? Thanks in advance. |

When you hear the click and it won't start go through and voltage check the post on the solenoid going to the starter and also then on the starter itself. Should be a white wire. Make sure it equals battery voltage.

It seems that you've replaced a LOT of parts unnecessarily...
Take your battery out, bring it to an auto parts store, and have them "load test" it! I bought my cart new, and the battery started to go bad after 5 years... (about the same length of time as yours!) |

If it turns out to be the battery, it will be the 4th new battery I have replaced in this cart. Something must be killing the batteries.

Once you put the battery in, check what the voltage is going to the battery. Its a very simple design.
