Default Loading Club Car in 3/4 ton Pickup

I use these aluminum arched folding ramps...

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/l...yABEgIDxPD_BwE

They’re not cheap but they are rated at 750lbs each. I load my DS into the 6.5” bed of my GMC 2500 with ease. The longer ramps and being arched makes pulling up and down better as the angle isn’t as steep.

Well.....FWIW, I hauled my cart for 4 years on my Chevy 1500 Silverado and the rear cart tires were just supported by the tailgate "wires."

On my new F-150 I've hauled the cart for about a year on the tailgate stock, with no issues.

I purchased those tailgate bars about 3 years ago for my Silverado. I used 'em for about 2 months. They are now collecting dust in my garage.

IMHO a 6.5' truck bed supports a cart with no adverse effects.

FWIW

I have a 2011 Ford 1/2 ton short bed .....load my 2011 CC in the bed using the arched REESE ramps with the tail gate down .....haul from Fl. to NC every year and back for the last 4 years .....no problem....I did have an extra 2 inches of aluminum welded on the ramp flaps that lay on the edge of the tail gate when down for added peace of mind. I try to get the trucks rear end in a dip so the angle is not so steep when loading .......good luck ....David

I saw the tailgate cables break under the weight of a loading cart. It was not something you would want to repeat.

That's good advice scottyb.

Note the comment in the article about not giving out strength ratings to avoid liability. That means anyone using the tailgate as part of the weight carrying platform is taking full liability.

Anyone have any experience with loading their cart up on a Diamondback truck cover?? The length of the ramps are supposed to make the incline the same or less then most tailgate ramps, just wondering if anyone has done it before I give it a shot. Cart is a 2012 CC precedent

Thanks!
