New motor help
I am rebuilding a 1989 Yamaha G2. I have a 48 volt Alltrax SR48600 controller and 22 in tires. I want a high torque motor and a speed of 25-30 mph. I was looking at the Plum Quick Rattlesnake or the AMD 7114. Anyone have any thoughts one which one would be the best. This is my first cart so this is all new to me. Thanks in advance.

Re: New motor help
I am kind of in the same boat as you... new to the golf cart scene, gonna lift it, put tires on it, and replace batteries/controller/motor to get more speed out of it. I called Plowman and talked with him personally and I am absolutely sold on his Riot kit. It comes with everything needed, which is important to me because I know absolutely nothing about these things yet.
Here is a link to his setups if you have not seen or heard of him... http://www.plowmanscarts.com/parts_36_38_volt.html |

Re: New motor help
I have heard nothing but good things about Plowman and his customer service. However, at least try contacting Chuck at Electrical Motor Products. You can search the forum and find lots of information on EMP. He will build a motor specific to your needs. His knowledge is unmatched if you ask me. Good luck!

Re: New motor help
36 or 48v? Clubcar 10-spline series motors bolt right up to your axle, your options are pretty much limitless.
