Default Gnd wire getting hot

The 6awg gnd wire from my battery to the frame got really hot amd melted the battery terminal. Got any ideas on what I should check first? Never done this before. 2002 gas ds

Yes, light bar, small amp for sound system. I did have a lawn mower battery in it. Should i go with a car battery?

Yes. Biggest, best one you can fit in there. Wired correctly of course.

A lawnmower battery isn't nearly strong enough to handle the load of the starter/generator and accessories!
It defiantly needs car battery!

A group 60 w/600 CCA came in my cart from the factory, but they're not normally stocked at most places.
A group 75 is very common, and the largest battery that will fit,
BUT... you'll have to remove the air filter box to squeeze it in there!
remove airbox, (3 screws up underneath, holding it to the frame) install battery, and reinstall the airbox.
