2000 club car motor rebuild
I have been working on rebuilding the fe 290 outa my club car and have stripped the threads on the shaft the drive clutch mounts to. The threads are 3/8 24 fine and left handed threads my question is does anybody know where I can get a helicoil kit or something similar for 3/8 24 left hand threads to repair the shaft?

Thanks I called them here in Kansas and they do not have any left hand helicoil kits. Think the kit comes with the tap and tool to insert the coil. Not sure why its so hard to find any left hand thread repair kits .

Re: 2000 club car motor rebuild
Yep I called autozone and they acted like I was asking for the holy grail found some online but they want anywhere from 100$ - 200$ so I guess my motor is trashed since I need a clutch and rings and seals and cant afford the extra 100 for a stupis thread insert.

Try another parts store you know the most important part size and thread pitch.. I don't want to offend anyone but some "chain" parts stores dont have the most intelligent people working the front desk
