4 quick beeps
Hi everyone, my 2000 pds txt 2x2 shuttle has been intermently running sluggish.. in diognostic mode I get 4 quick beeps and that's it? Not sure what if anything that means?
Also notice when I move or push on the frwd/rev switch the numbers on my pack display next to the frwd/rev switch move a lot .. from 37.5 to 39.0 (after a charge) Any help?? Thanks! |

Re: 4 quick beeps
There is no beep code for 4 beeps. Closest is 3--pause-1 beeps. That one is a solenoid issue. If you have the stock solenoid, it should be upgraded anyway as it was too small.

Re: 4 quick beeps
Ok I will try again but to me it was 4 consecutive quick beeps in a row without pause . Which solenoid do you recommend ?
Thanks! |

Re: 4 quick beeps
Four beeps immediately after getting into diagnostics, means the stock 36V PDS controller is in the "Freedom" mode.
Have you tried driving cart while in Diagnostics? The only time the error codes sound is when the error exists and the problem doesn't exist until the cart is acting sluggish. |

Re: 4 quick beeps
I have not tried driving while in diagnostic mode.. I do have the freedom chip.
So I turn off key , set tow/run switch to run, frwd/rev switch from neutral to rev 5 times.. I'll hear the 4 quick beeps... then start to drive and listen for more beeps? To exit diagnostic mode I switch the tow/run switch from run to tow back to run correct? |

Re: 4 quick beeps
Since this issue seems to be intermittent can I leave the cart in Diagnostic mode for a while? Days?
When it is acting sluggish I see the volt reading on the dash board go down to 32 on a hill that usually reads about 34. |

Re: 4 quick beeps
Leave in diagnostics mode as long as you like. It doesn't hurt anything.
The microprocessor in the controller will be a little busier looking for error conditions, but you probably won't notice any difference in performance, or at least I didn't when I was running a stock PDS controller. The 2V difference going up the same hill is very likely what makes the cart seem sluggish at times. Now to figure out why it is happening. Is your dash mounted DVM measuring the voltage at the main positive and negative terminals? If not, where is it connected. If the DVM is connected directly to the main terminals on the battery pack, the reduced voltage on the same hill may indicate battery pack issues. Bad high current cable, connection or battery(ies). Or, it could mean more amps are being drawn from battery pack at times for some reason. ------------ As for solenoids, if there is the possibility of going to a 42V or 48V battery pack ing the future, go with a 48V MJZ400. It operates at 36V, 42V or 48V, so you won't have to get a new solenoid if you up the pack voltage. |
