The cart will run without it - so this is not the cause of your no run situation. However Alltrax has recently recommended the suppression diode on all XCT controller applications.

i don't look for color wires on the cart side as they could have been changed from OEM colors

I sent an email over the weekend so I will see if we get a reply and what they say.

Not trying to hijack this thread but as someone suggested the color of the cable is not as important as where it's connected.

My XCT Operators Manual shows the following:

B+ to A2
M- to A1
F1 to F1
F2 to F2

IIRC when David & I wired the controller and motor per the above instructions, my cart would go in the opposite direction than the FNR switch setting.

The big cables were switched on the motor to the following and my cart operates great.

B+ to A1
M- to A2

So, why would Alltrax publish this incorrect wiring diagram?

Here is my question to Alltrax and their response back to me from Ron Manns, Technical Service Manager. As seen in the attached, they said either is fine, but do whichever makes the cart correct for the switch direction designation.

Did your cart wake up? Now that NoleFan received the ruling from Alltrax on cable connections we can move on to diodes. Did you check to see if the coil suppression diode was installed correctly?

Yes it did wake up. After looking closer I had two batteries wired in parallel and not in series. Like I said that first night was late and I didn’t have much time then to trouble shoot. Now the problem is that it is stuttering forward and backward. I haven’t had a chance to hook it up to my computer bc my computer is a MAC and the software is only compatible with Windows. So I’m trying to work on that. That will be my next step. I believe that the throttle mode can be changed to stop that problem. Is that correct?

When you power up the controller, are you getting any red flash error codes?

You cannot wire batteries in parallel unless you had multiple cables connected to the same battery post, was that the case?

If You had one of the batteries reversed (negative to negative between two batteries and positive to positive between the other two batteries) You may need to make sure that battery did not get damaged or is still in a low charge level.

You can run the Alltrax software on a MAC with a "bootcamp" type environment, several users have done, maybe they will notice this post and tell you what they used.

No after I straightened the battery cables out. I get a solid green light on the controller
