Default Armature grommet replace 48V Yamaha 2013

New to the site but having a problem that is now sounding common on deceleration. I'm going to start with replacing the armature grommet (pt# JH7-H1829-00). I am looking for advice on the most efficient way to pull the motor. Should I jack the cart up and lower it out or is it possible to access from above through the access panels? Also, is it necessary to remove the motor completely or is this something that can be separated from the axle and installed while wiring is still attached?

It’s easiest to just do it from underneath. You can undo the wires from the access panel through the top. Sometimes the armature grommet helps but usually the motor coupler/input shaft are really worn.

By the way you posted this in the ezgo section. Maybe the moderators will move it over to Yamaha.
