Has anyone made a stand-alone PowerDrive Charger?
I have too many PowerDrive chargers that are of no use to me because of bad OBCs. I know at one time I heard of a control board available for the PowerDrive chargers...
Does anyone have any experience with this? I always need 48v chargers and I have a few PD chargers which are doing me no good[emoji16] Club Car DS driver’s club #59 |

Those timers boards are not designed to work with the PowerDrive chargers, regardless the bad information posted by the clueless dealers that sell them.
They were designed to work with Ferroresonant chargers which offer current control by design. |

Understandable. Thank you! I guess there’s just gonna be an ever growing supply of extra PowerDrive chargers.

Re: Has anyone made a stand-alone PowerDrive Charger?
Unfortunately that external box by itself is not a charger, without the OBC electronics it is just a fixed voltage power supply.
Adding a timer circuit does not make it a charger either, it just stops the power supply after the bulk charge phase is done, it has no way to provide the absorption charge phase since it cannot regulate the output current. |
