Default Horn

I have a 2010 Club Car Precedent, and the horn will not sound unless the cart is either running, or the battery is connected to a charger. I'm just not getting 12 volt battery power to the horn. What can I check to see what the problem is?

Sounds like you have a very weak battery.

Bad connections at the battery or poor ground connection of the battery negative cable to the frame maybe. Is this an add-on aftermarket horn? Where does the 12v supply wire for the horn come from? Battery or fuse box?

Why is the battery on a charger?
A dead battery will overwork your starter generator and eat up the brushes.
Start the motor in maintenance mode with rear wheels off the ground, put the throttle pedal on the floor and check voltage at the battery to make sure your SG is producing at least 13.5-14.5v to charge the battery. If it's lower than 13, or higher than 15 you have a connection issue and/or a bad voltage regulator. If it's high that will eventually eat up the brushes in the SG and damage the battery due to high voltage.
