Re: Disconnecting Govenor
You may get more help if you post the year, model, and engine in your cart.
I would also make sure you invest in a good tachometer before disabling the governor or you'll soon be investing in a new engine. |

You've got to be really careful, we had Rick Scott for governor and when we tried to disconnect, he ended up senator! No telling what he'll destroy now...

Re: Disconnecting Govenor
Here's photo of how it's done. You can do it with one zip tie or two. The cart in this photo uses two (the owner is a member here). You slide the zip tie(s) through the middle of the spring shown and fasten the tie around it. Start out with the zip tie fairly loose and then drive the cart. If it's still too slow, cinch down the zip tie a bit and repeat until it reaches the speed you want. Temper your expectations. There a good amount of speed to be gained without harm to the motor, but don't over-tighten the zip ties or you could be running your motor too hard and damage it. If the motor is vibrating and feels unstable at the higher speeds then you've gone too far and may be shopping for a new motor soon.
The idea is to limit the expansion of the springs: |
