robin 244cc compression
I was wondering if anyone can tell me what good compression readings on a robin 244cc motor would be?
Thanks |

Re: robin 244cc compression
Just out of curiosity why 120? The service manual for my 89 Marathon (3PG) says anything over 100 is fine. I just tested mine and came up with 115 forward and 112 reverse. Think I should put rings/piston in it? Starts fine and runs pretty **** good for having a tough 20 year life!

Re: robin 244cc compression
he ask "what good compression readings" are..... I picked 120, that's pretty good, be hard to get much better with that engine. 90 is low but I know they'll run with even less than that. He could of just told us what his reading were and asked for opinions instead .........
No, I don't think you need piston/rings. |

Re: robin 244cc compression
Well, I figured from the amount of time you have been a member and the fact that you seem to be a source of knowledge here that you picked that number based on personal findings with these things. That's why I asked "why". Sorry to have asked

Re: robin 244cc compression
You would know wouldn't ya. you even argued that the service manual was wrong not to mention your post telling everyone to not post in someones else's thread unless it was acceptable to you.
Last time I checked you weren't running this forum so going around dictating how things need to be is reaching a little. |
