2006 Club car ds charging
I just wanted to verify what I am thinking is correct. I have a friends 2006 DS in my shop with charging issues. It won't try to charge at all. Last night I tried his charger on my cart and vise versa and mine did fine. Checked the charge port with a test light and not getting voltage or ground from the battery charge terminals or the obc. I'm thinking the obc is bad and needs to be bypassed and replace the charger with a smart charger. Is something like the Lester summit2
a solid choice or is there a better option? He just wants it to charge, nothing special. |

Check the yellow fuse holder on the gray wire right behind the charging port. Give the wires a tug and make sure they haven’t separated inside the yellow rubber and make sure the fuse is good.
I have a good OBC and charger from my 2008 DS IQ I removed when I installed lithium batteries. I’d think it should be the same as 2006? |

Re: 2006 Club car ds charging
What do you mean by yours did fine? Your charger works on his cart? Or his charger works on your cart?
No voltage at the charge receptacle means the Red wire is not connected to the pack positive, or the wire is corroded or damaged, usually at the battery post. Red should show pack voltage at the receptacle. Check with black meter lead to the pack negative. If you have pack voltage then move the black meter lead to the black wire pin of the receptacle. You should see about 35-38v. If lower, or if you now see no voltage then check the connection of the black wire plug near the OBC. Should be a single spade connector in a white plastic insulator. Also check the black lead coming out of the OBC to the controller B- terminal. |
