Default Big Battery Brand Vs Off Brand

I am looking for some opinions on which route to go when I am replacing my 2013 Precedent batteries. Currently has 6 Napa batteries from 2017 that still charge and run but the voltage sag is getting serious at times. I am considering going with Big Battery Husky 48v 103ah kit that includes charger for roughly $2k. I asked about it in a golf cart Facebook group and another member sent me a message about his battery packs he gets private labeled.

Essentially he is offering a 48v 105ah pack with charger for $1950 which includes shipping. His pack comes with a 5 year warranty where big battery has a 10 year warranty. I know there is some fine print to the big battery warranty but I'm sure this other guy has his own as well. He sent me a picture but honestly it's a little sketchy since he is in Texas and its private labeled "made" for his company.

Private label is code for "ripping you off".

If you want to get into the market, you create a company, market your batteries on your website, open a facebook page to let folks post their opinions, and get a BBB rating or other publicly accessible feedback.

You buy beer that's private label, not $2000 batteries.

I am one of the cheapest persons around (so my wife says), and I consider $Benjimans$ my favorite friends...but I would have to agree with Murph. Not worth saving a few "Benji's" on chancing what this guy is pushing. Be a shame to have trouble in 6 months and his phone doesn't work.

Thank you for the input. I had a gut feeling I didn’t want to do it for those reasons but I guess I needed outside influence confirm I would be an idiot for buying from him.

I wouldn’t do the private label one. I looked at the big battery packs but decided to go with https://extremeteamcarts.com/. The only reason is the continuous amps is lower on the big battery packs. Price between the two is a little different but look at the specs and see if you are good with the pack you buy.

Have you looked at bigbattery.com 48v-bdgr-kits? I recently (~2-weeks) replaced the old Trojan batteries with the BDGR kit. Have not had time to do a true range-test. But, testing during short trips shows - I should get 20-25 miles on full charge (which is plenty for my needs). Of course this also depends on what else is powered on (lights/radio etc) and road condition and number of people on the cart (weight)...
