GO BIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a 91 G9, 12" lift, 28" tires, 12" rims. Floor boards are 24" from the ground. When I first bought it I intended on lowering it a bit but it's just to **** fun! Nerf bars or side steps help!

Hey Culo, Funny you should reply,I was looking at your rig last night and played your wheelie over and over about 5 times! I spent the next 2 hrs researching G9's and Vanny's I love your cart and found Newguy's G9 project and fell in love.
I'm committed to my 4" lift on this G1 for now but I'll be keeping an eye out for a G9 for my next one

I have a G1 and planning on doing something similar with the lift. My question is our you using the original motor or up grading, I plan on doing trail riding nothing crazy just wondering if it would have enough power and don't want to lose reverse

I have 23" tires on my G1 and the stock motor pulled them around just fine. I shimmed the secondary clutch spring .400 to help bottom end power. An aftermarket stiffer spring is not the way to go with a 2 stroke as the clutches will never shift.

I later upgraded the motor to a honda clone and now I'm running a briggs V-twin. I also swapped out the rear axel/differential with a G2 to maintain reverse. A few others have also done this swap to the G1.

I started out lifting mine with no idea what I was doing when I started as it was my first cart. I actually reversed the front spindles which gave me more lift then built what I thought would be about 6" of lift. With the change in angle of the spindle switch and the lift I ended up with about 12" of total lift and the side rails sit 21" from the ground.

I also stretched the front out a couple inches forward and added 4" to the width which made for better clearance, more stability and a better look.

I'm running 22x11x10 tires with I think a 5-2 offset and have 2" spacers on the back to bring the tires even on front and back.

The cart ran good at between 25 and 30mph on level ground but slowed a bit on hills. Still plenty of power with the stock engine.

I then changed the engine to an 8hp Briggs and the speeds stayed about the same as the 2 stroke and I also changed the rear to a G2 so I could have reverse.

I drove the cart a while with this setup but now have the cart apart again. I did drop and pull back the swing arm to lengthen the wheel base as well and am now installing a 25hp V-twin Kawasaki engine so may be looking at bigger tires after I get that done.

My lift intentions keep getting put off either because of time or $. I had wondered about the rear-end swap for reverse when re-powering. What are you using for clutches? I know if you go with something like the Jake's 6" lift you have to watch the stock motor and clutch. Are there any clearance issues with the re-power or how is that handled?

Thanks!
