More Power/torque 98 gas E-Z GO
I have 1998 EZGO gas, I have 5 inch lift modified to a 6 inch from Jake's with 22inch tires and have lost some torque and looking for some ways to regain the power and torque. I would greatly appreciate any ideas, tips or tricks to regain the Torgue.
Thanks Paul |

The best and pretty cheap upgrade is go to your local dealer and have them install a 28 degree upgrade in your existing clutch. I have had 2 done and it works great and under $75 alot cheaper than a whole new clutch good luck!

Re: More Power/torque 98 gas E-Z GO
Is that a 28 degree angle on the clutch where the belt contacts? and just increases power because of the progressive angle comes in quicker? I was also told by a The CartGuy up here in Canada that I could pull off the clutch unit from the diff. and turn up the spring on the back side.Is this true and will it work? And is the diff side the right one?
Sorry for all the question, but do apreciate any help Thanks |

Thanks for the help I will try the shorter belt, this will decrease top end speed,But I would rather the torque.

Tightening the spring on the driven clutch will keep in it low gear longer as it delays the shift.
