Tachometer recommendation
I need a good tachometer , for gas carts, mowers ...etc
I saw a CC dealer which had a small black hand held tach. He got about 3" away from the spark , and told me what RPM it was running. NICE. I should have ask where he got it , tooo late now ? I do not want to have to put a any reflective tape on parts for it to work. What do recommend ? |

I have to admit I have seen many of these on the INTERNET. I guess what I am looking for does not exist (Yet) I could have sworn that the CC repair person who I watched set the RPM, did not add reflective tape. This was a couple of years ago and it was also the same place I got my first GAS cart and perhaps he had already added the tape. I guess what I thought he (his tach) was doing , was measuring the frequency of some changing EMF field from the spark plug firing. Thats asking a little much I guess . thanks again sj  |

search inductive tachometer. i know fluke makes a add-on version for some of their automotive meters.
